Darrius Willrich is a singer-songwriter who has been playing and teaching piano for over three decades. Darrius holds a degree in jazz piano and has taught music for Seattle Central Community College, numerous Seattle Community Centers, and even spent seven years as the jazz band instructor at Seattle Prep, his alma mater.
Darrius has released three international albums, has performed worldwide in cities like Sydney, Brisbane and Rio de Janeiro, and is the keyboardist for Digable Planets.
Darrius was a featured artist on the 2014 Capital Jazz Cruise, along with artists Eric Roberson, Patti LaBelle, Lalah Hathaway, and more. He’s opened for acts such as Macy Gray, Tyrese, Diana Krall, and Earth, Wind and Fire.
Jazz Piano Pro was born from years of teaching piano lessons and writing in students’ notebooks. When he realized that he was writing the same notes over and over, he began to distill that repeat advice down into his own unique system for teaching jazz piano that takes students from zero to being able to read and play lead sheets.
